Ah Yes the 550 hp GT supercar motor dropped into one of the most heavily modified Expeditions with one of the best Body kits I've ever seen on it... and they never made it.... Damn it Ford and Shelby!

Basically what I'm trying to convey here is whats everyone's take on this old almost completely forgotten concept? personally I'm trying to clone it, the problem being the only similar parts I can find off of it is the headlamps. Am I alone in trying? would anyone on here ever bought one of these beauts, lets just forget about the 125k price tag, if they had made it? Has anyone found any similar hoods, rims, etc? And most of all (for me at least) has anyone ever seen it in person?

Really if i had never seen this concept I would've never had begun sinking money into my beast. Really this concept brought about an epiphany for me and made me realize this SUV can be made into one wicked fast, Beautiful street machine. if you haven't noticed yet, just on a side note, I'm not really one to Lift, off-road, tow or do anything else that might make people wrongly prejudge me as a redneck just because I'm in a big, Gas hogging :p, American SUV (which they'll strain their necks trying to see the roofline of my truck in there little Civic, or Prius or other Japanese haikibutsu) I'm in more of one to Lower it Blow it Drag it :reddevil:

Sorry if I offended anyone who drives a Honda, Kia, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Acura, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Subaru, Daihatsu, Mazda, and/or Isuzu but please do us all a favor and park your expys on top of them the next time your in you're in your driveway. And always ;) Buy american.

Edit: Unless of course you don't live in America then go right ahead and drive anything else ^^;

My friends dad said his Pilot would outpull my Expedition.

He also thinks that 10,000 mle oil changes are a good idea.

2009 Expedition vs 2009 Pilot awd
Max. Payload Capacity of the Honda Pilot: N/A
Ford Expedition: 1640 lbs.
Max. Towing Capacity of the Pilot: 4500 lbs.
Ford Expedition: 9000 lbs.
0-60 of the Honda Pilot: 8.5
Ford Expedition: 8.1

10k mile oil change? Use synthetics. My father's Zo6 and Impala only need 10k mile changes and My brother's charger which he uses a blend in needs 5k mile oil changes, Granted that all oil may get dirty within 3k miles.

:p besides I'm sure no Honda could compare the Shelby expy anyways.... kinda makes me wonder what it could've hauled...

Would this have been too much for it?

I love it! I already have the headlights so I am on my way there. LOL. I would have bought one. Look at the trailblazer SS, lots of people love those. Its for the family man thats wants a fast car but has 3 kids and a boss... I mean wife to haul around.

Chances are this truck would've been quite the collectible, Especially to anyone who had a lot of money, a GT, and a family. The only cargo room in a gt was the passenger seat and your own pockets, This Expy would've have over 110 Cu. Ft. of cargo room, Perfect to pick up all the cash they'd need to pay off the two cars.

What Shelby needs to do now is make a Shelby Expedition Super Snake! 725 HP 620 Ft/lbs Tq all in a 6100 lb SUV. Ok so even with that much horse power it still won't be any Lambo beating American supercar but at least it could finally have enough hp at the low end to put in a cylinder cut off/ fuel management system!

I love the look of the Shelby Expedition, talk about a real collector item in the future too. At least one was made, as shown in the picture right? I guess someone decided there wasn't a market for it at the time.... I have some good ideas after seeing that one.

2005 the ford Wixom plant in Michigan closed down, the ford gt AND expedition were both made there, or at least I think the gt was made there (there used to be a GT shell on the roof), I know my Expy was. This was supposed to be a 2005.5 model so the shut down of the plant must have changed things. Here in Michigan we've been feeling an economic down turn since early 2005 and ford was witnessing this first hand so they started their "restructuring" plan way Way earlier than the other two companies. Also the 5.4 DOHC lost ford SO Much money because it was all hand built and aluminum (which was even higher back then). Along with the slowly turning gas prices back then if you add all these factors you'll really see why ford just backed off making this, the GT-R and GR-1 sema concepts.

I've actually seen the one you're talking about but the fog lamps are closer to stock and not round. That body kit also didn' have the bar in the center of the valance, not to mention the base didn't flare out. But then again those two you can actually do something about a little bit.
