So yesterday I decided to clean out the TB I had a hard time getting the EGR bolts off, once I removed the TB with EGR attached I got on of the 2 bolts out, the second one broke in the TB spacer. I drilled it out and re-tapped the threads. While doing this I found one port was so clogged that it was growing backing the spacer and the other was 1/3 clogged. Not sure how it didnt throw a code. I ran out of patients and time and stopped for the night. I now am going to go close it back up but I need to replace the line that goes from the TB to the little round valve on the fire wall on the drivers side. Its for the canister purge valve. Can I just replace with a rubber line or do i need to use the same design?

So after getting everything back together, replacing the canister purge valve hose, and the pcv valve(tested good) but figured I would change it anyway since I dont know how old it was. The truck runs smoother, has better acceleration, and doesnt try to stall on me when I go to park. I will update if this corrects my exhaust smoke issue after idling for awhile. Not sure if the acceleration is in my head or not but it feels like my shift timing is better which may also be in my head but I get up to 55mph with less pedal and lower rpms.
