Throttle body cleaning

I have been told not to do it on this motor. 5.4 Just wondering if I should go ahead and clean it out. It has a little build up and I don’t think its ever been cleaned.

Well I dont see why you cant clean the throttle body. On some of the throttle bodys I guess there is a teflonish coating on the inside that may be harmed by harsh cleaners, so avoid anything that could damage that and you should be fine. I just looked at my stock one that I removed and didn't see any such sort of coating though.

I am pretty sure mine says not to spray cleaner in it. Just use ThrottleBody and Intake cleaner instead of Carb cleaner. That shouldn't hurt the coating.

Yeap I guess Im just going to use something sprayed on a rag and finger it out....:rolleyes:
