So when im at the drive through, I can hear a rapid ticking when ever I'm giving it gas or when it's idling. It's not loud, and I was only aware of it when I was trying to listen for something else. Any clue what it is?

The 2nd noise I hear is a metallic clank whenever I go from park to R or D. Thoughts?

The clank is perhaps a rear transmission mount or U-joints on the driveshaft.

You have to see if the ticking's coming from the motor (belt, valve train) or the driveline.

R/D switching is noisy in these things, so far no indication of trannies crapping out though

What year? Which motor? Could be a belt or pulley... could be exhaust... could be the progressing 5.4 tick that can be remedied with 5w30 or 5w40 synthetic oil, but supposedly eventually needs a fix on some tensioner thingies or something
