I have a 2001 Bauer 4x4 and want to go with new wheels and tires. Anyone know how big I can go without having to put a lift kit, or spacers, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

285 70 17 fit with no problems. I've heard 315 70 17 will fit (not 100 percent certain, though). You will need proper offset/backspacing no matter what size tire or wheel.

Thanks for the answer. I am really wanting to go to like a 20" or so rim. Want to fill up that empty space as it seems to have some factory lift.

Filling up that space will almost definitely result in tire rubbing during steering and suspension compression. You've got a 4x4 truck. That space is to allow for suspension travel. Also, increasing the rim size does nothing to increase the outside diameter of the tire. The sidewall height of the tire is more important.

be careful measuring, but there is room for more size.

-With the EB, you have to take your air ride into consideration unless you have removed it.
-The width of your new tire may be more important - when you cut the wheels they scrape on bumpers and trim pieces.
-Back tire is closer to the trim and body than the front tire. The front has more space, so make sure you measure via the back tire.
-Front tire has all the bushings and suspension parts. again be aware of WIDTH.

I do Jeep offroading, and the usual mistake people make is the width, thinking they can put 8.5s or even 10s on a stock vehicle, because 30 or 33 fits outside, but you try to steer, and your a screwed. You can use spacers, but they are not great for your axles.

If I am not mistaken, factory is 265's. You can do basically up to 285s without issue, but the width cannot change unless you remove the running boards at least.

Thanks for the information. You are really helpful. A friend I work with is into 4x4 and tells me that if I do anything like I am saying I need to go with a suspension lift. Again thanks.

I am running Nexen Rodian AT Pro RA8s in a 265/65/17 on the stock wheels on my 2wd EB and I think they look good. They are a little taller but only like 1/2".

I just put a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's on my 2000 EB. Great looking tire, seems to give the exp that "fill the gap" look without having to get to large of a tire. The price on them, wasn't terrible. I went with the all terrain due to living in the mountains, and dealing with off road, or snow sometimes.
