Just bought new tires for my 05 Expedition. Decided on the Firestone Destination AT's. So far, I am impressed. So, anyone else running these tires? Good wear?

Also, the spare tire seems to be the original. Anthing I can do to try and make it last? (IE: Prevent dry rot, etc..)

Thanks.

only thing you can do is ride on it...all tires have a shelf life...regardless of being the spare or actually riding on it...there should be a date on the spare...might have to look very hard but i believe its required by federal law to have the expiration date of the tire now...too many ppl had blowouts with the spare and cause numerous accidents to include deaths...

The date code on the tire is a manufacturered date code. There should be a way to decode it somewhere on the web. Usually a tire is good for about 5 years. It does get some protection under the truck.
