Transmission Failure

The transmission on my 2005 Expy w/ 73K miles went out yesterday (so I'm told by a mechanic I trust). I've never had this happen with other cars I've owned over the years. Anyone have any comments?

What was the tranny doing that made you suspect it was going out?

that dont sound right to me really low miles too see a tranny fail. i would be looking at the electronic side of it. what are the symptoms???

That does sound early for a tranny to take a dump. How has the vehicle been used as far as towing? If the vehicle can be driven, I would get a second estimate before replacing the entire tranny.

Since I own the same year I would like to know what symptoms you were having before it went. Was the fluid changed regularly, did you tow with it?
