Transmission reimbursement from ford

Did anyone get a letter from ford stating that they may reimburse for a transmission control assembly? I got one in December and I did have the part that they were referring replaced the year before. So I sent all the info they wanted and I finally heard from Ford in which they denied the claim. Reason, “ vehicle not in warranty at time of repair”. Expedition had 90k at time of repair. I called the service number they provided and spoke to the rep. I asked why would I have needed to get reimbursed if the car was in warranty? Isn’t that how a warranty works? Poor woman had no answer that made sense. So Ford sent this out without ever expecting to pay. In case ypuor wondering I had the work done at ford dealer. Anyone have better success than me?

By the time I would get those notices for the 6r80 transmissions, all of ours were over on mileage. We had repaired the ones that had trouble in our shop. We had a fleet of about 20 F150s newer than 2009 with that transmission.
