The black "plastic" tread pieces from my 2006 Limited have faded quite a bit. I tried cleaning them with various scrubbing pads and abrasive cleaners to try to remove any possible oxidation. Still the light grey color remains on the driver's side. The passenger side looks much closer to original after an application of Wipe New.
I am thinking about taking them both off, cleaning them up really well, and hitting them with a can of the Rustoleum Bumper & Trim paint. Has anyone ever used this paint before, and if so, how did it turn out? Alternatively, is there another product that would work better (ie, Flex Seal spray)?
