Back in May, I changed 7 of my coils. I could not for the life of me get the second one from the firewall on the driver's side out. I recently had a pending code of "Misfire Cylinder 3". So I need to know the trick to getting that bugger out. I unbolted the fuel rail, but I still couldn't get enough clearance to get at it. I only removed the two bolts so that the rail would wiggle a bit. Can the fuel rail be completely removed easily? Is that how it is supposed to be done?

I was so frustrated at that point, I just left it go and hoped it was ok. As it turns out, it was not.

Perhaps my numbering is wrong. Is number 3 on the passenger side?

I don't recall if that one was difficult or not. But I did replace it. So perhaps I'll be sending it back to unique under warranty.

God I hate this truck.

I just did mine last month, the coils were a little difficult but 7 & 8 were the tough ones. I don't remember #3 being a problem and I left the fuel rails in place. You do need a good selection of 1/4" sockets, extensions and swivels to get it done.

once the rail is unbolted it just pulls off of the injectors. Watch for orings that stick in the rail. Also ALWAYS lube you orings before pushing the rail back on and recheck for leaks

I tried pulling and it didn't come off the injectors, so I thought I had missed something. I didn't want to force it.

What should I lube the o-rings with?
