My truck often smells of antifreeze (from the engine compartment) especially when warmed up, but the level always stays just above the "low" mark. I never see a drop on the ground and there's never any white smoke at the tailpipes.
It also does not smell inside the truck at all. Any ideas?

I don't have the adapter for the pressure tester. so no testing until I can find one.

I had the same situation on my Chevy Tahoe and it turned out to be the control valve in the heater core hose, it was leaking enough to smell but not enough that you wuld notice the loss of coolant. Otherwise I have no other ideas.

the water control valve would be my first guess also the cap on the resivor tank is common for not holding pressure and giving the smell of antifreeze with no coolant loss. if you replace the cap i would get one from the stealer seems to be better quality

My first guess was the heater core. I had the same thing in my Bronco. Stink of antifreeze, and my windshield always had a greasy film on the inside of it. Could never figure it out, then one day I had a green puddle on my passenger side floor mat.
