So last week right after I got gas at the gas station I tried to start my truck and she just wouldn't start. I kept trying and trying, still not luck.

Finally, I put it in Accessory and threw it in drive and then put it back in park and it started.

Today the same thing happened in the Best Buy parking lot, I threw it in drive and then park again and then it started.

What could it be? Alternator?

Sounds like it possibly could be the park/ neutral safety switch.

I know autozone you can take your alt. to have it tested. When you start your truck do the lights dim?

What lights? I mean everything works fine. It's just these two instances where something has gone wrong. Never happened before in its life.

Safety switch!! Will not let it start unless it is in park. By changing the gear shift you altered the contact.

So how do I go about fixing it?

Is it bad that I started it this way? Otherwise I don't think it would have started.

Should I get it fixed fast or can it wait?

I concur +1. It's not bad for your car starting that way. It's just a safety feature that if the car is not in Park or Neutral it will not start.

If you just had it replaced and it is close I would take it to the tranny place. They should know what to do and should be quick fix.
