So a little back story, I originally had a 2010 Fusion SEL and twife had a 2011 Jeep Liberty. I smashed my Fusion pretty bad and it was never the same after that and she has always wanted a Tahoe so we found a sweet deal on our Expedition Limited and traded my Fusion in on it and I have been stuck driving the Liberty until the lease runs out next July (2014).
So having driven this Liberty for the past 10 months I have come to love a few things about the Expedition, first its actually fun to drive. I enjoy getting in it and driving it whereas I dread the Liberty. I cannot believe such a small vehicle has such a horrible turning radius. Second, the key pad on the door (I know this is a Ford thing and I have always driven Ford's) its crazy how much I actually use it when I don't have one. Third is that the clock in the Expedition actually keeps accurate time, you would think that in this day and age we could get a clock that does not have to be reset each week because it is up to 15 minutes off but apparently according to my wife its a "jeep thing." Fourth... gas mileage, how can a V8 and a 3 times as heavy vehicle get better city mileage?
Anyways I love the Expedition, I love that its still old school body on frame construction with a transfer case that has low range. I have taken the beast in places that I didn't take the Liberty last time we went off roading because the auto locking hubs were not engaging in the Liberty.
This is my ode to the beast and how I love you and steal you every chance I get from my wife.
Here are some shots from the last 10 months of ownership with hopefully many more to come.
