The tan shows the cracks after some years and sun damage....
How many years does it take? I'm at 12 years and 215k miles and the seats still look great. My seats are exactly like JExpedition07's which look pretty nice too. My 17 has black seats just by chance. Had I ordered it, I would probably have bought the dark brown set.

Have you driven one of those 3/4 ton Fords? OMG, they drive HORRIBLE! I mean, you almost can't keep them on the road if you even blink. My buddies have those year 3/4 ton fords and they saw on the steering wheel just to go straight..... I'm just being honest...
They aren't meant to float like Cadillacs, but my 05 F350 6.0 1 ton, my 04 F250 3/4 ton and my buddies Excursion diesel all drive beautifully for what they are. Trucks.

We shall find out how long it takes. As they cheap off on everything today, I fully expect things to deteriorate much faster than the previously built ones in general. Everything today is junk.... It really depends on the storage conditions too. My dad had a brand new car that sat outside its entire life and the tan drivers seat was all cracked up after 4-6 years. He didn't care, but it looked ugly.

We rented a minivan on a trip after having our Navigator for a while and I agree, they are really family friendly. The low entry big sliding doors are awesome. However, the convenience stopped there for me. The extremely short hood was weird for me and the utter lack of power proved to be almost dangerous a couple times. A lot of people on this forum like to poke fun at the 4th gens being just lame minivans for people who refuse to drive an actual minivan but having been in both that’s clearly not the case as I see it.

Can you please elaborate more? We are considering the switch from a Chrysler Pacifica to an Expedition Max/Navigator L ... the only thing holding me back is losing the sliding doors. We have a 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 yr old but will be traveling with my in laws more starting next Spring/Summer. I even ordered a Navigator L and turned it down at the last second due to this fear about losing the convenience and sliding doors, etc.

Oddly enough, we did the exact switch. my wife had a Pacifica Platinum and loved it. but we moved to South Dakota and the Pacifica was horrible in snow. spent half the winter sitting in the driveway because it was stuck. By the end of the winter we traded it in on an '18 Expedition Max XLT 4x4 and she LOVES it. winter was almost over when we got it so we did not get to test it out in too much snow, but it is every bit as comfortable as the minivan and offers a better view in traffic. No regrets at all. Never a thought about losing the sliding doors.

Elaborate more on what? As for the sliding doors, they are handy, especially in tight parking spaces but I like to park out of the way for the extra steps and to keep people from dinging my car so the advantage to the sliding doors in tight spaces is no longer an issue. The low to the ground aspect is nice but that is no longer an issue now that my 2.5 and 3.5 year olds can climb into my Navigator on their own now. Now being low to the ground would be a major con for us now as we like to hike, camp, fish, and whatever else in the outdoors. My Navigator has 9 inches of ground clearance, just as much room (it would be more but I didn’t get the ‘L’) as a minivan and loads more power to tow and enjoy driving with plus 4 wheel drive. There are just too many pros with the Navigator over any minivan for us. Everyone’s situation is different so your mileage may vary. If this didn’t elaborate enough feel free to ask specifically what I can help with.

Sorry, I could've been more specific ... you covered it. I was just curious to hear more from you since you had rented one while owning the Navigator. I think we will order fairly soon. We own a ranch as well, so will be driving the vehicle on some substandard roads here and there too ... that will kind of be the kicker ... and having 4wd.
