I had a misfire on cylinder number 1 on the passenger side. I did some swapping of coils and plugs, and decided it was the plug, so I pulled it and found a lot of oil on the coil sleeve and around the plug. Cleaned it all up and replaced the first two spark plugs on that side. Started missing again several weeks later, and again oil around the plug well. Cleaned again, but was a bit more aggressive. The oil debris was old and I did not see fresh oil so not sure of the source. This time I made sure the plugs were torqued right and not loose. I also cleaned around the surface of the head since it looked like the valve cover may have been leaking a bit. I will wait and see. I have looked at all kinds of YouTube videos on how to replace the valve cover gasket, but none seem to match my setup. Do I have to remove a bunch of hoses? I also want to know if I have to remove all the coil connectors all the way in the back, along with the injector wiring. It looks impossible to get to. Any help or ideas on where to find this information would be great. It is a 2000 Expedition with 149000 miles.
