It's horrific. A wall of subforums under each generation. 99.9% of posts in the Gen 4 forum are just under the general Generation forum. Now we have to deliberately choose a sub forum, after scrolling down a few acres of subforums we never use...

It's bad enough that I had 2 threads I wants to start today, that I just didn't bother with because it's just so unnecessarily over-complicated and confusing.

It is my belief that a large number of those who have bought newer models have owned earlier ones as well. Thus may have run into and have info one info requests that will go unseen.

This is not an improvement for frequent forum visitors. I have a 4th gen and I use the 4th gen forum, pop in a couple of times daily to see what is new. Now I have to open 11 individual sections to see what is new. The "What's New" button is worthless to me because it'll show what's new over the entire forum and I really don't care what's new about the other generations because I don't own one of them. I can definitely see my usage of this forum going down with this change.

Yeah the recent changes really ruined the forum. I hate to use a strong word like "ruined", but it's the truth. It's fine to have a bunch of subforums, but there still should be a one-click spot to be able to see every post that is in a particular era. As GixxerJasen stated above, I used to be able to pop into the 4th generation a few times a weeks and catch up on everything in one quick glance at all the thread titles. Now it takes dozens of clicks drilling down into each sub forum to catch up. My suggestion is to simply pull the plug on the recent changes or create an overall combined page where every thread title can be seen.

A custom "Whats New in this section" button would be nice too if possible. I'd be all in on the new layout if I could just do that.

I think this is one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it" type of situations...

Don't like it. There's not near enough traffic here to justify separating everything. Having the model years / generations separate is fine, which has a posting section in its specific year range (4th Gen 2018-2024 for me). But to then have another general discussion sub-section there, along with Forscan, engine, suspension, transmission, audio, etc broken out into their own sub-sections...it's just too much.

It could look cleaner if someone sorted out the old posts and move them into the new categories.
Same here, I don’t think the current traffic really warrants the amount of sub sections currently running. What I really liked on this forum was a the simpleness not having too many sub forums.
Is there still room for sub sections? Yes! I’d rather like to see it sectioned differently with less subsections into General, chassis, body, electrical etc. than having 10 subsections where 8 of them are rarely used. And it’s too many as all I see is subsections from top to bottom on my tablet. Sure the Expy crowd needs their fix, but it isn’t a match to let’s say F-150s out there.
As for Forscan in every generation category is a mistake, because if you start programming, you should be knowing your stuff before hand. I’d rather thee a combined Forscan section for all generation Expy as changes or new features from Forscan are scares. There are too many subsections right now for my liking.
Just my 2 cents Canadian…

This right here, excellent suggestion.

There actually is a combined FORScan section for all generations. Also one for each generation and FORScan discussion in general discussions too because people don't post them in the FORScan subsection. To me as a 4th generation owner, I would like to see no subsections whatsoever under 4th generation and site news and any really important threads can be held at the top as a sticky.

I do know that. However from a helper perspective it’s not great running through each generation category sub for Forscan only because it isn’t something continuously posted in. Done Forscan mods myself. I guess I am just old and grumpy and don’t like having too many sub sections that clutter up my screen o the tune of swiping twice to get there where I wanted to be. And that is for each generation. It’s just so tablet unfriendly.

Slowly but surely I have stopped using this forum because of the new format. It's just too much work to look through all the subs for something interesting and new.
