I have a '99 4WD Expy. When my windsheild washer fluid is low, I hear this chime. If i don't re-fill it, everytime i put the key in the ignition I hear the same chime.

When my gas tank is low, all I get is the "light" indicating it's low.

I'd much rather hear a chime when the gas is low, than if the washer fluid is low.

Is there a way to switch this?? Is it simple like something in the fuse box??

cnuttgirl,

Sure...put gas in the widshield wiper fluid reservior, and windshield wiper fluid in the gas tank.

Just kidding...I couldn't resist (-;

I will look in my manuals and see.....

cnuttgirl,

I checked my Exby Haynes Repair Manual, which has the electrical diagrams for the Exby in it.

The Windshield wiper chime operates off of a switch, while the gas fuel indicator light operates via the level guage, through a solid state device. I am pretty sure this means that they cannot be swapped. Sorry.

I used to own a 98 eb explorer and it chimed every time the computer wanted to tell you something. Low fuel , washer fluid whatever.
