Changed out my passenger side door with one that had no dent. More of a project than I'd thought it would be but it looks a lot nicer.
Should be putting on and replacing some of the other stuff I have in my box o' parts but I'm feeling lazy today and its darn cold out.

Took my Father in-law out today looking for tires for his Suburban and got stuck when my brake light switch went out in my '03 and wouldn't let it shift out of park. Had my wife bring me the part, $50 and 2 minutes later we were back on the road. Then later took my wife's '98 to the car wash and when I got home could smell what I thought was a burning clutch. Got under and the A/C compressor is shot. So I'm dropping it off tomorrow morning and it will be done Monday afternoon. The guy quoted me $600 with a warranty so not too bad. He's treated us pretty well. So not the best way to start the 3 day weekend.

Checked all my plugs and found one half way out. I could tell by the threads where it was sitting in the head. I had no noise or any other type of issue that would tell me I had a plug on its way out. I even touched each coil pack while running to feel for vibration from piston pressure in all cylinders and all felt normal. So glad I checked!

Glad you discovered it before it ejected!!

I think checking plug torque should be a regular maintenance item given the history with ejected plugs. Maybe every other oil change?? If only there were not such a pita to get too!!

Happy I went with TFS heads!!

Was a very busy weekend for the truck,

Got home from the store Saturday Morning, she looked like this:

Got up this morning, it looked like this:

Was tempted to do an oil change at this point, would have been the easiest filter change I'd ever have done in my life...

And as of a couple hours ago:

Still a bunch of work to do; remount the winch, rewire the fog lights, buff the fender (it's only colour sanded as of right now) and a few minor odds and ends.

Man, what a pain in the ass job to do at the front curb - just nasty.

Oh, and by the way, a 98 F-150 grille mount is not an exact match the 97 Expedition, it required some minor modification to fit. Nothing serious, just some interference of a couple of braces on the mount.

Oh and hate the pickup grille on the truck. It does look 1000% better than the busted up original, but liked the OEM style much better. Oh well, the perfect excuse to pick up a grille insert...

At least it will be somewhat hidden once I get the winch back on.

Picked up some lense tint so I went ahead and tinted the tail lights and fog lights.

87,500 miles, time for some fresh lube & fluid! Replaced the Rear Pinion Seal, front end has a leak but not a drip. Drained and replaced grease in the Front and Rear Differentials, Transfer Case and new Dot 3 bleed through all Break Lines, drained and refilled power steering. And a quick wash!!!

Some work

Moms had the Expy for the longest time and I go back to it the other day to take it to our local car show. Checked the fluids on it at the show and yeah.....found out why the trany is slipping so bad. The dipsticks were barely reading and both of them had some sludge on them...added a bottle of Lucas to the trany and a quart of Castrol GTX 10W-30 to the engine. Its kinda strange that I can feel the difference even from adding just that stuff. When I get the time and money I am going to drop the trany pan and do a flush. It would be a lot easier if that cross member wasnt in the way. And same goes for the oil. Lets gets this baby back to what its ment to be. :bowroflwerd6:

all overlays done by patriotdecals.com...tailgate...rims...steering wheel...intake cover...they dont need dimensions for steering wheel or tailgate...dont remember the measurements for the intake...it needs to be a little smaller than what they sent...sorry
