I picked up a used fia winter front for the expedition through my local online classifieds for 15$. Not a perfect fit but It fits will enough for me, the seller even threw in buttons and stainless screws which was great!

Wanted one of these for the longest time I'm glad to check it off the list:cool:

A little past halfway reading this thread. But anyway.....

Picked it up from the bodyshop today. Had the rust in the roof seams taken care of.

I had to install a new front passenger window regulator. Bought OEM from Amazon. Easy to get to and change, but I broke off the little nub that holds the inner door handle on as I was putting it back together. I didn't notice any box damage when I received it, but there was no extra packaging in it either. I wish I had noticed it beforehand. After removing it and tossing it across the garage, I drove down to O'Reilly auto parts and bought a Dorman equivalent. It installed fine, but the door handle nub on those stick out a little more than OEM, so the handle fouls on the surround after it's all put back together. Just a little catch, but a bit annoying.
My $130 repair turned into $280.

Stumbled across this at Wally world today which I thought was very clever, I might put this on My dirtbike, my summer car also...

They look like license plate bolts when you glance at them but if you look at the underside there are LEDs built into them, just have to splice into the factory license plate light wiring and that's it.

Well...A couple weeks ago I installed a new stereo to make my 06 suit my needs a little longer. This week I found out I need an a/c compressor and probably an intake manifold gasket. Suddenly it looked like time to trade. Wouldn't you know I ran across a 2010 that looked just like my 2006 and for a good price! Now I have a 2010, and I love it. Have already used 4x4 in snow and towed home two pieces of furniture.

Had a rattle coming from the passenger side of the dash. First quick look a couple weeks back didn't indicate any way to get in between the dash top and sub frame without pulling the dash. A more thorough check on Sunday led me to the A pillar molding rattling against the A pillar and dash top. Some 3m trim tape along the A pillar and some electrical tape between the molding and dash and she's quiet as a mouse. Now, about the noise coming from the B pillar......

And, got my personalized license plate yesterday!

I pulled a Jeep Cherokee out of a ditch on a snowy road. They were on their way to go off-roading in the snow. They went off the road alright. I carry a tow strap, a shovel, and a few other items in a bucket all winter for such occasions. This is the second guy I have pulled out who was trying to get off road to play and never got there. The other one bellied out on a snow plowed over at the side of the road. This truck just makes it way too easy. It made my boy's night! This was the first time I tried attaching the strap to my hitch by sliding the loop into the receiver then sliding the hitch pin through the loop. The other end has a 10,000 pound hook which attached to the most useful piece of off-roading equipment the Jeep had - his recovery shackles.

Phase 1 of repairs have been done as of yesterday and I feel good. Was able to get the front brakes redone. Drive side caliper was on wrong as it was for the passenger side. Brakes have been bled and they feel great now. PCV valve has been replaced and the throttle body has been removed and cleaned out and the plugs were inspected. They looked great, which blew me away. No fouling at all on them and I do not think they have been changed in over a year. The oil filter was moved by a previous owner to the driver side wheel well, which makes changing it MUCH easier and I'm happy about that. It also holds 6 quarts, which is cool with me. It does not look like the oil had been changed in a while, but the previous owner was not driving it very often. Because of this the battery (Duralast Gold) was not charged very well, but I charged it up for several hours while working on the rest of the vehicle and now she starts right up. I have a constant ABS light on the dash so we rechecked the brake fluid in the master cylinder, but it was fine as we had just bled the brakes. Ended up changing a $13 sensor in the differential, but that did not cause the ABS light to go out. More troubleshooting to come on that later. Lastly, I changed the rear window struts which were shot and now the window stays up on it's own when open. Overall a VERY productive day.

It didn't take tooooo long, but if we go "by the book", like Lieutenant Saavik, hours could seem like days. As far as help, well, I'd like to thank the Academy, my wife, my manager, my dogs, that guy that you see walking all over town but you never see him in any business or whatnot and you wonder where it is he is actually going to.....

The ABS light went on, so I wiggled the wheels and found a loose bearing on the front left wheel. "Fun"... a few hundred bucks down the drain next week.

Replaced my Heater Core. Since this was my first heater core job, it took quite a while, and a ton of patience. Honestly surprised I didn't break anything, or set my truck on fire lol. Sure as hell beats spending $700-$1000 at a shop though.
