i have an air suspension equipped '98 Expedition

i want to fit 35s, found some 35 x 12.5 17

1. Do i need to get rid of my air suspension?

1a. will something like this do?

97 02 Ford Expedition 4WD Air to 2200LL Shocks Coil Spring Conversion Kit X4 | eBay

2. Key for the front and Spacers for the rear?

Ford 1997 2002 Expedition Full Pro 3" Front 2 5" Rear Lift Level Kit 4x4 XLT | eBay

3. I want to fit the 35 x 12.5 - 17 on my stock 17in wheels, 8in wide. Will they fit on stock wheels?

4. Will i need wheels spacers so the tires aren't rubbing?

You will need to get rid of your air suspension. I just took out my air shocks and threw in the coilover shocks today. You won't regret it, trust me. I have pics of it on my thread. I recommend sticking to the stock keys. Throwing 3inch keys and cranking them to the max will start messing stuff up. You'll have to replace the CV's and ball joints very often. I can't tell you how to fit 35s because I haven't put 35s on my expy. I just ordered 33's couple days ago.

35's require a 2" suspension lift at the very least with some rubbing at full lock with stock wheel back spacing, a body lift would make them fit that much better, also, you need to take gearing into account. Check what gear ratio you are running to see if 35's will turn your expy I to a dog or not, 3.73's would be needed to make it bearable from what I read.

Also aftermarket keys aren't needed, I got full 2-3" of lift out of the front by turning my stock keys up after converting from worn out air suspension.

Stock tires are 32". 33 is only 1/2" closer to the fender. Doubt it would require anything.

35s need re-gearing for best effect.

33s I wouldn't bother doing anything.

FWIW, I have 305/65-18 tires (~33.5" O.D. ) and 3.55 gears.

I'll be re-gearing for diameter and to offset the added weight of the tires.

I regeared my Explorer from 3.55 to 4.56. Great mod. I'm now at the equivalent of stock tires and the factory 4.10 gear option.

Yep, I did same with my XJ (265/75-16 with 4.56). I think if I had my time over again I might consider 4.10 though. With towing and the OD turned off and 4.56 gears it turns a few too many revs for my taste.
