Can't wait to share it with you! :)

I'm guessing there will be no news and 2012 will be just another huge disappointment for the Expedition. MPG will be the same, HP will be the same, handling will be the same... and they'll most likely lower the quality of the interior.

If they are doing an update for 2012 I can't believe that they wouldn't go to the Ecoboost motors from the new F-150s and Mustang.

I don't know, I do agree that the big SUV market is fading but there are still people that need them. I have a legit need for something this big that can also tow a crapton of stuff and keep me comfy while doing it all and the Expo fits everything on that list perfectly.

If for some odd reason they do keep the 5.4L there is absolutely no reason they couldn't crank up the horsepower a bit and get the gas mileage in line with what the GM stuff gets with the cylinders turning off on the highway. My buddy with a newer Sierra super cab pickup gets 24mpg highway and that thing weighs about the same as my Expo...

edit: They also need a major redesign in the looks dept. IMO, they made a beautiful vehicle for the 2nd generation for both the Expo and the Navi. In the 3rd gen they got fug while the pickups got better looking.

I know this is a bit of an older thread but I wanted to check in. For the moment, there are still no updates on the changes between the 2011MY Expedition and the 2012MY yet, but stay tuned! As soon as I find out anything, I will relay the available information!

It seems odd how quiet Ford is about potential changes for the 2012 Expedition. Will there be new engine choices? MyFord Touch? Body changes? When does this information usually become public?

Usually right before a car show, but they know how to throw curves. I think they should really step their game up this year (even though everything is probably set in stone at this point) But i would like to see a standard V10 right off the block - my buddys got the limited V10 and during this years blizzard he was unstoppable. I would also like to see a more streamlined back end and higher suspension.

I'm calling it 2014 before the expedition see's anything other then the 5.4L v8. How can they replace the Excursion with the EL but not have the excursion's v10 or psd?

Guys, just got off the phone with my salesman at the dealership. He stated that Ford has released to the dealerships the info on the 2012's and the ability to start ordering. From the first info that has been released to them it does NOT appear Ford made many changes at all. The engine options appear to be the same, still the 5.4L. The only change that he saw was that you can now get heated seats on the second row.

I am kinda disappointed by this. Had hoped to see more changes and options. Was wanting some of the new options released on the 2011 F150's. Will let yall know what else I find out.

Also, if any of the Ford Customer Service employees are lurking, please fill in some of the blanks!!

I guess we should just be happy they haven't discontinued the Expedition like they have with the Excursion, and now the Ranger.

I looked into this smo0othride and Wes1, and found these updates to the Expedition for the 2012 model year:

• Spotter mirrors are standard on all series
• Front Park Assist is standard on Limited and King Ranch
• Heated 2nd Row Seats are optional on XLT (with Premium Package)
• Sync® AppLink™ – A new feature within Sync®, AppLink™ provides control of certain Smartphone applications using Sync® voice commands is included with SYNC.

Please let me know if you need additional information! :)

Are they putting the 4.2in LCD productivity screen on the 2012's like they have on F150s and have just added to the 2012 F250s? I am hoping for updated displays. Also, when will we be able to build the 2012 on the Ford.com website?

Any additional info will be great.

I looked into your questions and found that unfortunately, the 2012 Expedition will not receive the 4.2 LCD in the instrument cluster. I also found that the 2012 Expedition is scheduled to be available at Ford.com beginning on September 6th! :)

So basically Ford has not really done anything with the 2012 Expeditions?!? I find this very sad. Ford is putting a lot into other vehicles, but seem to be pushing the Expedition to the very back of the line!

What's up with that??

Bingo. If there is not much demand, then there it doesn't make sense to invest precious R&D resources. FWIW, the E Series vans are pretty much the same as well. And, ironically, they are also recipients of the 5.4

Ok guys, I agree that sales may be down, but how hard is it to take a few of the new upgraded options on ALL lines of the F Series and drop them on the Expys? Don't see much work going into that?!? Just my thoughts.
