When I placed my 2022 Limited Expedition order, I requested CCD suspension. When I went to the Ford Website to view my order, there is no mention of CCD. There is something called "Suspension Road Preview" listed. I have no clue what this is. Is it actually CCD suspension? Thanks everyone!

I believe it how they control the dampening of the rear shocks by using the inputs of the front shocks. So if the front shocks hit a large bump such as a speed bump or a pot hole the rear shocks will adjust accordingly to smooth out the ride as best it can.

Is Suspension Road Preview and CCD the same thing?

Yes, the order guide says "CCD with Suspension Road Preview"

Ford video on the system:

Road preview is ccd, but uses the front camera to prep the suspension before hitting the bump. The lincoln aviator already has this feature, this will be the first ford to have it.

They should just use the MagneRide suspension system.

Ccd is magnet ride.

The system is based on a dozen sensors mounted just ahead of the front wheels that read the road every 2 milliseconds, providing data for the computer that adjusts what Ford is calling “continuously controlled damping” shock absorbers. I wouldn’t expect Ford to give credit by name to their crosstown rivals but the system undoubtedly uses magneto-rheological dampers first developed by General Motors. There’s no shame in that — Ferrari and Audi use GM’s shock absorber tech as well, as do the higher performance versions of Ford’s own Mustang.

Yes, road preview is an advancement to the previous set up. Instead of using only sensors, it adds a camera to see further out and adjusts accordingly.

I did not realize that. Do you know which generation of MagneRide it is? The 4th gen just came out so I don't expect it to be the same.

Now that I don't know. The expedition was the second or third vehicle to get ccd in its 3rd gen refresh, back in 2014 after the fusion and I believe mustang Shelby gt500. However, the suspension btw the third and fourth gen expy is the same so outside of tuning, it probably is the same.

No the Ford Fusion Sport was the first to use it in 2015/16.
I was specifically talking about road preview. I already mentioned the fusion being the first ford to have ccd. It gained that feature a cpl of yrs before the expedition in 2011.

Is the 2022 CCD same as earlier 4th Gen Expedition CCD (2018 model year)? Or is the Road Preview feature a new feature on top of the existing 4th Gen Expediton CCD?

The ccd suspension system is the same however Road preview is new starting 2022. It comes with ccd now. Hoping they add air springs starting in 2025.
