Looks like under the bar code is a possible part number. Give to the counter person at the dealership and see if he/she can shed some light on what it is.

Yes it is a license plate mount for the front bumper.

I saw one of these in a rental car that my wife had a while back, (a '24 suburu) and it was just lying in the trunk along with the floor mats and some other misc stuff that was still in the factory plastic like the OP's was...

Indeed ! lol u would think the salesperson would help him out and bring that part to the parts dept to look up that obvious part number. Salesman was a dum dum

We bought our 2017 Edge from a third party and it did not have a front license plate bracket. I had to get one from Rock Auto. It was a perfect match for the bumper contour. The only scary part was drilling holes in our "new" car's bumper!
