To have my plugs and coils replaced? Figure they factor into why I'm getting this damn shudder, so I think I'll take her in and get it done. How much should I expect to pay? Cheers

I'd suggest that you buy coils on ebay & plugs local at a parts shop.. Then take the parts to the person doing the labor... (about a couple of hours)

if i remember correctly...$300+...expect to not have your truck for a day and a half...max...my dealership tells everyone 2 days to change cops because they break as everyone has been told...so if it goes smoothly...a day considering youre there as soon as they open and they pull your truck in 1st...

IIRC it is just over 4 hours book time to do this so that is around $400 in just labor depending on the shop rate...

then $30-$50 per coil and $3-$5 per plug....

i would buy the parts and take them in... you can buy the v10 COP set for around $100 and have 2 spares...

Did that quote include handling any plugs which seized in the engine - or would they charge you extra labor for those?

I just finished changing plugs in my 2005. Had to spread it over 2 days because I ran out of time the first day. Plugs in cylinders 1, 2 and 4 seized - so I had to use the Lisle tool to get them out - glad I had purchased that ahead of time. Got 1-6 done the first day, then had to do 7-8 the next day. The gap on the old plugs was huge compared to the new ones and the truck ran rough when it still had the 2 old plugs in it - but now is back to normal.

Couple of recommendations:
  1. Buy the Lisle tool for 3 valve Ford Engines
  2. Have a couple of feet worth of ratchet extensions - did the 1st 6 with only a 4" extension plus the swivel socket and it really slowed me down.
  3. Get the spark plug socket with the swivel/wobble built in.
  4. Go ahead and remove that computer thing on the firewall near the battery and most importantly the mounting bracket it sits on, then you have easy access to 7-8.
