What trans in 2003 Expy? Think my is toast.

So I have a 2003 Eddie Bauer 4x4 w/5.4L. I was curious what transmission is in this thing? Is it a 4R70W?

I am asking because I believe the trans just went out on. It was nose diving once it got up to around 30 mph. Almost like it was hitting the brakes. Then I found a parking spot, then tried to put it into revers and it just revved up not moving.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check the door tag. U trans code is 4R70W. E trans code is 4r100.

The 4.6 has a 4r70w while the 5.4 has a 4r75w

So just to let you guys know I have a 4R70W in my truck. I called Ford and gave them my VIN. Also while in the process of pulling my trans I saw on the crossmember that holds the tranny up engraved on the back side it says "4R70W". Figured I would pass it on.

Just to let you know pulling a trans is a pain in the ass with these vehicles, so much crap to get through.
