Looking at ordering a set of wheel spacers to bring out my wheels a little bit. The spacers I'm looking at have a different tread on the lug nuts than what came from the factory. They recommend using acorn style nuts from the wheel to the spacer. I am still running stock wheels at the moment which have the flat style lug nut. Can I use an acorn style nut with factory wheels? I don't want my wheels coming off that is NOT fun. And do I need to order hub centric rings to make them work?

Use the acorn nuts only from spacer to lug nuts on axle. Make shour that the spacers you get are longer then lugs so you will not have to grind the tips of your lugs. Torque them good and use lock-tight on the spacer to lug nuts on axels. I'm also getting them soon .

The thread pattern on the lugs on the spacers are apparently different than what came from the factory, so I cant use the factory flat bottom lug nuts. ( according to the rep I spoke with). I havent seen other flat bottom lug nuts in a different thread pattern.

I'm ordering them today as well but I'm getting 2in front and 3in in the back . the lift kit in getting sticks the tires in front 1 inch out and to keep stock rims I needed more back spaceing so I added 2 more inches on front and to even it out I decided to put 3in in the rear

3 " inches is pretty far out for a spacer. Going out that far do you have to worry about any undo stress on the hubs or rear axle bearings?

Wouldn't it be kinda like the rims that people put on there truck that stick out like a foot? I see that slot I'm guessing it would kinda be the same

Yeah I guess I see where you're coming from on that. But the load force is still on the hub itself in the aspect, where your load would be three inches out from the hub. Im not sure just something to pay attention to, maybe. Might not have any effect at all.

I will just go with 2 in rear I do a lot of towing and you have a good point there. That would suck to lose a tire lol

Yep its no fun. Scary as **** going down the road when you watch a tire rolling down the road... you're like whose ****ing tire is that and than the truck drops. Happened on my sierra with 35's. luckly it was on the back and I wasnt towing.

Lol that would suck! There is a video on YouTube talking about wheel spacer it was on a expy and the guy did not notice the studs coming out the other side of the spacer and it broke. He had 1 1/2 spacer.

If you install it right the back of the stud shouldnt be able to really back out because it would hit the face of the hub. Now if you are running an adapter with a bigger lug say 5 to 6 or 5 to 8. I could see that because the spacer/adapter would actually be bigger than the face of the factory hub.

Yeah I installed mine fri night sat morning. 2" all the way around. I love the new stance. Other then a tiny rub on the bumper, there is no issue. Bogged the hell outta it this weekend. Pics up soon.

Looks like you didn't need to grind the lugs. Do you think a 1.5" spacer would need the lugs ground?
