Hey guys, my current 2010 Ford Expeditions SSV has quite a lot of storage for odds and ends but I'm picking up a 2017 EL Limited and I'm wondering where everyone else stores their misc "truck stuff." Things like a hitch, tow straps, vehicle safety kit, jumper cables, etc? Is there some secret storage area I'm missing?

Thanks!

My big hitch is in the camper and the little one stays hooked to the receiver to ward off tailgaters. The cables are under the cargo floor compartment. I have a plastic bin for other odds and ends, but lately we've been leaving it home since we haven't been traveling. There's space under the cargo area for tow straps.

My hitch just stays in the receiver, there's space under the middle seat where lots of junk can collect. If you don't need the 3rd row you can remove the seats and add a plywood layer to make a sizable storage compartment.

I was surprised at the lack of internal storage on our 2008. To remedy that problem, I bought a large black plastic storage bin with hinged locking (if desired) lid that fits between the second row captain’s chairs. It also serves as a table top for second row passengers and the arm rests still fold down.

It does get moved to the back or removed when necessary but it works great for all the stuff you need to have in your truck.

I have an EL - I'm guessing non-EL rigs do not have the second under floor storage compartment in the rear, where the rear shelf folds up from? I put the more commonly used items in the most rear (closest to the lift gate) compartment; jack, jumper cables, tie down straps, etc, and less commonly used items; fix-a-flat, jumper box, etc, in the "shelf compartment". I still have room for a tow strap or similar, in the shelf area, if I needed to carry more gear.
