Look for a genuine Ford dealers' shop manual on DVD on ebay. They are written by Ford, used by the dealers are the most complete and can often be had for $35. New, they are ten times that price.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-2008-...Fbw9:sc:USPSFirstClass!11561!US!-1:rk:36:pf:0

Beware of crappy imitations, bootleg copies and download links.

Most are outdated disks of the Ford dealers' release, which require your computer's date to be set back to the issue date to be read. ...Whatever it takes.

While these are the best I've found they are no match to the old time manuals of the 1960's which explained how everything worked and could be repaired in an age when parts weren't simply replaced.

Ford digital manuals and paper books are the only way to go. You can buy a Haynes, and Clymers as a backup, but you'll find that most of the info is for other models. They make their manuals for too many models. Never covers what you need, at the time you need it!

I got one from eBay.
Only rub is I don’t have a good PDF reader that I have found that gives me a nice easy searchable layout.

So much easier to flip thru a book.
Kinkos wanted like $80 to print and bind it.

For $80.00 you can buy the printed books. I forget the name of the company that sells them. I've bought them for my mustangs, and Lincoln's. Their available usually in 4 separate books. Maybe one of our older members here has that company name, I'm drawing a blank.

I just went on eBay, theirs quite a few selling the 3 set paper books. One seller has all 3 used books for my 2000. At $65.00 I think I might grab them. The copy of the CD version I got from the late Bedrck 47 won't open up right on the computer. Like Black, I'm old school, and prefer the paper version.

Thanks train master, no their more like $140.00 on up for the 3 pack. Years back in 96, I got all 4 for my Lincoln, and I think I paid $80.00 back then. Used would be best bet if you already like the grease stains like I do. Actually I used to like seeing the greasy fingerprints on the cylinder/ heads pages when I got back parts from my machinist. Knew he got specs right!

This one does. It has to cover different vehicles and none of the diagrams (for what I'm working on)!seem to match.

I've had Haynes for my 83 Mustang, 81 Volvo, 86 Mazda truck, 96 caravan, '06 S-10, 07 Caravan, and now my 11 Expy and this is the first one where I've had this trouble.

That being said, I've never had anything else. Well, there was different brand for my first few cars. Chilton.

Haynes and Chilton are simpler to understand than the factory CD/ paper dealer ones. If your lucky enough for them to cover what you need at the time you need it. The factory ones are made for a factory trained mechanic. They can be intimidating to figure out for the beginner. Sort of like trying to figure out Attorney speak, or Doctors lingo. You know their speaking English, but trying to figure out the meaning is tough.

Did anyone find one they're happy with at a reasonable price? I'm in the market. I'm also considering something like the AllDataDiy subscription, though I would like to know how good the content is.

As far as the Haynes, I've had one for every vehicle I've owned since the '90s But, the one for my wife's explorer is kinda skimpy, and it sounds like it would be for my new expy too. So, I need more meat than that.

Keep checking ebay. I got the 2 volume Ford factory manuals for $26 and change and then found the wiring manual for another $20. The person I bought mine from appeared to buy out a lot of Ford manuals from someone as they had a ton of different models available and even more than one for certain models. This was the seller here....but no expedition manuals left https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Ford-...var=621987563702&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Factory DVDs for 07-14 were pretty easy to find cheap. I was able to get one for my 07. Finding one for the 15-17 cheap not so much. I also bought the wiring manual for ~$15. With all the electronics etc the pair is priceless.

Thanks Hawk! I just ordered mine, looking forward to checking it out.
Glad I could help!

OK, I can confirm along with Hawk that the workshop manual is money well spent. More information than I'll ever need it seems. 10,000 pages worth. I may make it back on the section on rear air suspension alone...
