Ordered today. Platinum SPP….agate black. Told myself I would never buy another black vehicle….but here we are. Replacing 21’ Denali that replaced a 16’ denali that replaced a 12’ Escalade. Happy wife is willing to ford this time around. Don’t love the black tailgate part, but looks good on all black vehicle. I imagine many folks will wrap that.

It's been over two months since production started on February 21st, and I'm still painfully waiting for my order. After spending over a hundred thousand , I haven't received any updates. Is this how Ford treats its customers? This is supposed to be an established automaker

If your order is taking so long, can your dealer find you one the way you ordered and have it shipped to you?

My son texted a Yahoo!autos article from this morning. The main point of the interview with a lady named Yarmak, a quality manager at LTL, stressed the massive quality control effort being done for introduction of the new Expedition. They added 100 additional inspectors per shift as well as 72 new finished vehicle compliance audits to be done on every vehicle. Interesting read. May explain some or all of the slow delivery rate.
autos.yahoo.com I think for the full article. CJ Dave.

I don’t know if that makes me feel good or bad. Good that they are going through extensive checks and this taking longer, or bad that they are finding issues that need to be fixed. I don’t want a broke truck before I even drive it.

Now I’m just finding dark humor in this misery. For the past month, I’ve literally turned into a human F5 key — refreshing the order status every 2-3 hours whenever I’m awake. Is this Ford’s way of training customers to become obsessive-compulsive?

Expeditions are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant which is on the east side of Louisville.

The Louisville Assembly Plant, which is in south-central Louisville, builds Escapes and other small CUVs.

Louisville Truck Line or Louisville Line was a name used several years ago for the medium duty trucks built at KTP.

For some reason, I thought LTL was a reference to a trucking company used to transport finished vehicles from KTP. Note that many finished vehicles are also shipped from KTP by rail. Video of vehicles being loaded onto rail cars at KTP: https://youtu.be/Sh37CohbnUI?si=mdEAOq4d-NvSJzAd

The original article appeared in the Louisville Courier-Journal and was reposted by Yahoo Autos: https://www.freep.com/story/money/c...plant-louisville-2025-expedition/83362370007/

The article states April 30 was the official launch date for the 2025 Expedition.

Several photos of Expeditions on the assembly line at KTP in this C-J gallery: https://www.courier-journal.com/pic...-kentucky-truck-plant-louisville/83370473007/

That's part of the risk ordering a new generation vehicle sight unseen before they are even released.

Stuck "in production." Platinum Max w/ SPP, Ordered/confirmed 11/07/24, scheduled 12/05/24 for week of 02/24/25, in production 03/03/25, nothing since then. Shows "non shippable" as well. When none were shipping yet- ok; now that they are shipping other similar units to dealers for stock- very frustrating
Hello, how is your order going? Is it still stuck at "IN PRODUCTION"?

Pretty much same boat, ours went into production 2/20 and nothing since then. Dealer doesn’t know but said on their end it shows built and moved offsite. Spoke with another dealer that had some orders in similar situation and they said there was a bad hail storm that damaged vehicles and waiting on ford to repair.
