Why are towing mirrors not found for 1st gen???

So I've done this research a couple of times over the years, this time hoping that something had changed since my last. No joy.

That's why I pose this question and hope someone knows the answer. I see two common threads...

ONE - There are LOTS of aftermarket tow mirrors for almost any make/model you look for. Everything from a basic, large tow mirror to elaborate power, extending, heated mirrors with turn signals.

And TWO - There SEEMS to be a LOT of people looking for these to fit the 1st Gen. Expy and can't find them.

Soooo...What gives? Is there something that specifically prevents this or ??? Heck, I'd even take a swap from another vehicle but even that's not possible, even from within the Ford family.

Are you looking for permanent mirrors or are temporary mirrors okay? My problem wasn't with the first gen I had but the 3rd gen I have now.

For my first gen, I had something like these and they worked very well:

I'd like to add a permanent replacement such as those you can get on an F150 that have the large upper and wide-angle lower mirrors.

If I remember right, the trim on an F150 and a Expy are different. That is the biggest issue for changing mirrors.
Considering "most" Expy owners don't do a lot of heavy towing with their Gen 1's, there is not a large market for aftermarket towing mirrors. That is probably why there are little to none out there.
