Hi Everyone,
I'm new here (I've actually been browsing here for months)
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2012 Limited and I had a question about the TPMS that I haven't been able to find using the search.
Here goes,
If I buy a second set of rims for my winter tires and put tire pressure sensors in them, do they automatically get picked up by the truck when I put them on the truck? Or do I have to go into the dealer each time I switch the rims over to reset the tpms or re-program the new sensors?
My wifes Acura is like this and it kind of defeats the purpose of switching the tires over myself. I have to go into the dealer anyway to get them to reprogram the second set of sensors in the winter rims, otherwise I get the TPMS light on all winter.
I only bought the second set of rims because there's usually about a month wait to get your tires changed over in the fall. So now I can change my tires myself, but I have to wait a month to get an appointment and they charge almost as much to program the sensors as changing over the tires lol.
