Does anyone know if the wireless charging option on the 2018 Expedition will work the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Android Phone?

I love the wireless charging but the position of it is less than desirable. I wish they’d of put it in the upper dash tray instead of in the console cubby.

Wonder how hard it would be to put a wireless charging pad under that top tray/cubby? Wonder how much distance or space between phone and wireless pad there needs to be... A trip to my local car stereo shop may be in order. Just setting you phone in that top tray would be so much easier that the spot where it is currently.

Apparently you can now get wireless chargers that go up to 3 feet! But, back when I was more in touch with that side of tech developments, it's usually about 0.5-1 inches for most mass produced wireless chargers.

Thank you

You're welcome! Don't take my word as gospel, but I have yet to see a mass produced longer range wireless charger.

Now, in terms of having one for the top tray, that depends on how much space is behind the centre console, although not very much is needed. I imagine the easiest way might be to get one a simple pad, splice the power from the lighter port and use double sided tape to secure to the underside of the top tray.

[If possible] I would also add a mechanism to secure the phone, so it doesn't fall (and become a distraction) and so it is correctly placed to charge (in my experience wireless chargers seem to have a fairly finnicky sweet spot for optimal charging) ; maybe have a flat sheet of rubber, same size as the tray, with a cutout for a phone to sit in (this could be done for multiple phones and the extras kept nearby to hand).
