i have a 32gg usb drive with all our music, works pretty good. it ranges from 50's to present so if you select PLAY all, you may have the bee gees, or bill haley pop up, or omg LIPPS inc (funky town), following miranda lambert (ugly lights).
but x plan, i have used it on the my last few fords, BUT my dealer always has a better price than x plan so we go with it.

Curiosity kicked in so I built it out.
2018 Expedition 4x4 with rear buckets, floor liners and cargo mat puts MSRP at $77900 and invoice at $74443. Add $50 to invoice and your at $74493.

Add HD trailer tow package and you are at MSRP of $79470 and invoice of $75935. If he's at $74500, they are probably doing $1500 in ford rebates in that number.

OK deal but you can do better. Ford cash is $1000, Ford finance is another $1000 so you should get $2000 in rebates easy if financing through ford. Own a ford and you get another $1000. Then there are $500 rebates for first responders, military, etc and I think another $500 for farmers.

You should target $73500 IMO rather than $74500. (more if you can qualify for more than $2k in ford rebates)

Love it! Nice work and THANK YOU!!! I'm still holding out for Gator incentives because it's no comparison after driving them both, even with Expy at #2. Problem is I have 4k miles left on Tahoe warranty. Hurry up already with some kind of discount Lincoln!

Ok folks, I need some help here regarding the X-Plan. I think I understand things correctly, but I need some n00b assistance.

I generated an X-Plan through both Ford and Lincoln via my employer, so now I have my PINs in hand.

For the Gator, I'm being told the dealer invoice for a standard length reserve with Revel Ultima and Tech package is $84,500. Since there are no dealer or Lincoln incentives right now, do I simply take that 84,500 and multiply it by the .6%, then add the $275 fee to get to my X-Plan price? that would be roughly $85,282 total. Is that right? It seems as if I'd simply want to wait for additional incentives to come out if i want to save a few grand extra....

For the Expedition, would I even want to use a PIN since my dealer is offering $50 over dealer invoice PLUS another $2K in incentives? They are currently offering me a price of $74,400 on a close-to-loaded platinum with a MSRP of $79,800. Would an X-Plan improve the deal at all?

Thanks for the help, as always!

to clarify my suggestion. mine would require the cds to be ripped on a computer via itunes or other software to a lossless (or any supported format) and load those files to any jumpdrive and then plug into the usb port of the ford. you would then be able to access those files via the on screen GUI

it has a usb port right, then use a 32 gb or higher usb stick for your music. i was not aware the 18s still had a cd drive, i thought 17 was the last year for them.
but yes once the usb stick is plugged, just go on browse in the entertainment or radio screen.

I do this now, but my old 09 nav could burn music onto an internal drive in the head unit so cds not on my computer could be listened to. Just mentioning.

You can build and price and get the actual xplan price it you start here (https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/login.do) you have to navigate a little but you can go to the build and price and get the actual xplan price.

Thanks I'll take a look. One other question if you don't mind: If a dealer or manufacturer is offering incentives - think GMC season to save for example - is the X-Plan even worth it, or do you actually take X-Plan pricing ON TOP OF / IN ADDITION TO the incentives?

yep my 2010 f150 had a 30 gb hard drive in the stereo system i copied all my music to the truck and the cds stayed home. but the 2013 150 had no hard drive, but two usb ports so we went with the 32gb usb drive stick, i downloaded all my music from my laptop to it and my cds are in a case somewhere in the house. personally i like the usb flash drive stick better as its faster to add music and easier to re-arrange or delete music.

. It’s X-plan price less incentives. The X-plan website will show you the current incentives if you give them your zip code. Or just pick your options, and call your dealer for a quote. Alternatively, the x-plan site has a build and price link. If you click it, you can do the usual local inventory search, but this time the prices shown will be X-plan prices (albeit without the incentives applied).

You should get the Ford/Lincoln incentives on top of the X-Plan (X-Plan price then subtract the incentives)...although beware, the dealer may try to tell you otherwise (and they keep the incentive money.)

One note since it sounds like you are new to X-plan. If you are trading, expect to see a real number on your old vehicle. There is no over-allowing, no smoke and mirrors, etc. Usually not pretty since dealers use black book which is always worse than KBB, Edmonds, NADA. Your trade-in and any add-ons to the new vehicle, including extended warranties, are your only negotiable items.

Your X-plan price is right there on the invoice, plus upto $100 max for back office dealer document fees, less the actual cash value for your trade. Yes, upto $100 doc fee and no prep fees allowed.

So if trading, I'd swing it past a CarMax first since they give a 7 day cash offer regardless if you are buying from them or not. Won't take but 20 minutes. Give CarMax an email address you don't mind spam on.

Also, in the F&I office you should be filling out a A/D/X/Z plan form. (Z= Ford retirees) This form is where you give them your sponsor or referral info and acknowledge the invoice.

Thanks all! I just priced out my vehicles...

- Gator Reserve with tech and revel is just over 82 (yikes, still)
- Expy is 74K...the same price the local dealer is offering with his 2K incentives.

By real number, do you mean real [low] number? I assumed I'd simply cover the X-Plan price first so we settle on that, then tell them I'm trading in my Tahoe and negotiate that separately...

Correct.

You will see actual cash value, so compared to a traditional car deal, it'll be low. You will always get more for your trade by selling it yourself.

Since the X-plan on your truck is the same everywhere, finding the dealer who will put the most into your trade will net you the best deal.

You will get any Ford incintives on top of the xplan price. I don’t think you’ll see any incintives on the Navigator for some time to come.

If you live is a very competitive market (i.e. a large metropolitan area with a lot of dealerships) you can come very close to X Plan without a lot a haggling.

If it is the only dealer for many miles around and you don't like haggling, X Plan is for you. A couple of friends in this situation say it was a God send !

I know A and Z Plan are sometimes locked out on new models for a few months and are typically not available on limited production vehicles (Ford GT) so I assume the same applies to X Plan.

A-Plan
Ford's A-Plan is intended for Ford employees. This is often considered to be the best possible deal out of Ford's discounted Plan offers.

How it's calculated: Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Fee + $275 program fee

How much is a typical holdback and advertising fee?

Yup, exactly. Here in the Washington DC area, both GM and Ford dealers advertise prices online that are anywhere from 10-20% off MSRP. That should be close or may even be better. I saw a Platinum Exy $82k MSRP advertised for $73k already.
