Dropped of Monday. Assured would be done Thursday. Called Friday told would be ready after I got off work. Returned the rental and it wasn’t ready when I got to dealer. Supposedly because they found more corrosion.

Wow. Did the dealer tell you why they didn’t call you?

(I own a 2015 Expediton Limited 4x4, purchased new, with paint bubbling inside the rear hatch at the bottom).

5 issues with this vehicle. Bought CPO in January. Tailgate, wrong keys, dealer exec vehicle driven without oil changes, registration not being processed correctly, misinformed on CarPlay compatibility.

It wasn't back at the dealer when I got there 2 hours after they said it would. They had to call the body shop to deliver it, and there was a new chip in the paint on the hood. Body shop acknowledged it and so a couple more days without my vehicle. Plus side dealer says they are going to fix the issue with the wrong keys by the time I pick it up.

I bought a new 2015 Expediton Limited 4x4 (Blue Jeans Metallic) - never wrecked or damaged, and used strictly for passsenger use.

The paint began to bubble in the same locations (inside of rear hatch, near the bottom) before the basic warranty expired. I did not have it fixed as the dealer said it would have to rust through to be repaired. I did not press the issue.

When I wash the vehicle or have it washed, I always open the doors, hood and hatch, and towel dry the inside of them. The vehicle has been meticulously maintained.

I know a lot of people post and say that they will never buy another Ford because of (insert reason), but his problem will prevent me from buying another Ford with any aluminum panels. It is clear that Ford has miserable quality control and has been aware of the problem for years - with no solutions or improvements.

This thread sure is long with many posts of the identical problems on different model year Expeditons.

Are there any Ford employees on this forum from the Kentucky Truck Plant or with Ford painting experience that could comment? Thanks.

All 07 & 08’s were built in Michigan. 09 production was split between Wayne, MI and Louisville for both Expedition and Navigator. 2010 and beyond were out of Louisville. Both assembly lines simultaneously produced our trucks along with Super Duty.
