    '01 trying to max mpg

It's probably being done in the tuneup, but if not, I've heard new O2 sensors and spark plugs help a lot. Clean the throttle body...they're probably doing that too. As far as chips go, you can check this out. http://www.bullydog.com/product.php?ID=4. And a new intake and exhast definitely help.

Just hit 165,000 miles, need some advice

I just cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body...neither of them were THAT dirty...but DAMN! Made such a big difference. My engine is MUCH more responsive now and idles WAY smoother. I think I'll do the spark plugs next. Do the 5.4 3V's even have a PCV valve?

How do you clean the throttle body? I don't want to remove something that will mess anything up.

Just hit 165,000 miles, need some advice

Lol no, what I really want is a truck thats still running smoothly at 250k miles. I guess I'll start off with cleaning the MAF, throttle body, and PVC valve since it'll cost nothing.

Just hit 165,000 miles, need some advice

Well I just got a brand new Interstate Megatron II battery and got my shit aligned less than 4 months ago. My belts are new as well. So that's a few things checked off of the list lol. How much do you think the parts to do all of this will cost. I'll do everything myself to save some money.

Lol thanks. And "waking up" the truck may not be a good idea since my goal is fuel economy. Lol

Just hit 165,000 miles, need some advice

Got the headlights taken care of. Just got a completely new brake system and pads about 20k miles ago. I change my oil and air filter every 3k miles. What can be done to the tranny to maximize its life? I just want to get it "tuned up" so to speak and check on the tranny. But I really don't know...

Just hit 165,000 miles, need some advice

My truck feels like it's lost a lot of power over the course of 165,000 miles. I'm about to get a big bonus and I want to bring my truck in to get it tuned up and some maintenance done. What typically needs replacing/tuning/cleaning at 165k miles?

    Transmission slipping?

I have a 2006 Expedition Limited with 165,000 miles on it. I don't think the transmission has ever had any work done to it. When I'm going about 60 MPH and try to accelerate, I can feel the car jerking a little...for the longest time I just though I was hitting bumps on the road until recently I...

relaced transmission 1 click no crank

I will have to agree. Make sure the battery is fully charged. It's not uncommon to leave the doors on your truck open for long periods of time when you're working on it. I've drained my battery a few times this way without realizing it. Best thing to do is turn the interior lights off when you...

    Just my luck...

Yeah. It's only been about 6 months since my other accident...my expy got a new face and will soon have a new ass. Poor thing can't get a break... I wasn't this lucky the first time though lol. My other accident resulted in me paying over $3,000 out of pocket. Thankfully this one isn't my fault LOL

    Just my luck...

The funny part is, the guy was still parked next to me and he apparently left his truck to go to class. I didn't know that there was a paper on my windshield for the first 10 minutes lol. I looked at my bumper and was like WTF?! Parked next to me was a big truck with perl white paint all over...

    Just my luck...

I parked this morning thinking..."it's Monday and this Friday is my birthday. Someone is going to hit my car." Those were literally my thoughts. After being parked for no more than an hour, I walked out of class to find this: The bumper is cracked pretty bad in the back and will need to...

    2006 Expedition Limited: Replace 4R75W with 4R100

Any idea how much work would be required to get the 4r100 in there? I've never really done any transmission work so this will be learning experience. How complicated is it to connect the gear select that's actually in the Expedition to the new transmission, etc.

    2006 Expedition Limited: Replace 4R75W with 4R100

I have a 5.4L engine with the 4R75E transmission (I believe) and I'm wondering if anyone has ever replaced this transmission with the 4r100? Or does anyone know if the 4r100 is interchangeable with the 4r75e? I'm looking to do a diesel swap and I can't find an adaptor plate for my current...

    Stealing power from cigarette lighter

My cigarette lighter never shuts off either. I hard wired a Valentine One radar detector a few weeks ago. I used the switched 12V line that turns the radio on. (It's the red wire if you have an aftermarket head unit with a wiring harness.) I had it mounted by the rear-view mirror. I ran the...
