I certainly was impressed with the bilstein build quality. The yellow paint is looking pretty crappy now. I can see myself repainting them at some point.
Im about to take my 97 Expy to the dealer for the monroe shocks becus i got a friend whom works there and gives me deals But i really wanted to have something better than stock. Do any of you guys know of any shock for the air suspension Expy's. Thanks alot for all the help.
From the reviews that I have read they are pretty good, and the price puts them in line with the the most basic Monroe or KYB shocks, and I know they will be better than that.
Im still new to the whole expedition thing.(ive had mine for about 1 month) and this weekend i did the gotts mod and a drop-in k&n.... well worth the time and $70!!!
THAT WOULD BE PRETTY SWEET! BUT IM TRYNG TO "GRIP THE GRAIN" CUZ MY FORD PARTS LEATHER IS WORE OUT UP TOP CARID HAS THEM FOR $275 BUT THERES A $150 CORE DEPOSIT,
Can I still crank the Tbars up and put a spacer in the back and make it into a 6" lift? because everyone with the fabtech has done this but no one with the rancho has done it.
Just purchased a 2009 Ford Expedition 2 wheel drive. Had it home for a day and the ford accessories transmission broke. The dealer had it for a week and fixed it then it broke again while they test drove it. Had it for a couple more days.
For the Expediation I replaced both hubs last night and so far it sounds great. However, I'm not 100% convinced that this was the problem. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out later I had a U-Joint going bad, a CV joint on death's door, or the left side wheel bearing in the axle tube singing...
I've obviously removed the tie rod end for the picture shown to the left, but it's a good time to point out that there's a breather tube running from the boot on one side of the rack to the boot on the other side of the rack.
I think Flaming river has a complete kit for rack and pinion conversions.I have seen others but can't think of who else at the moment.I'm sure others will chime in soon!
Be patient with the catalytic converters, as they are often hard to remove due to size and awkward placement. You may have to drill or saw bolts to remove them. With this in mind, you should pick up new bolts, nuts and seals for your replacement project
I just bought a very clean '00 expy and want to buy some high quality floor mats, preferably a 4 peice set. It's a EB with tan/biege? carpet. Any websites to check out? Thanks!! PS, I also need a OEM CD changer.
Thank you brotha, you give great instruction, and views of everything! I'm about to make this install door lock actuator once it comes in the mail here pretty soon.
I already have a bug shield now but it looks dull and I plan to replace it now. If it is still available send it to me now and I will shoulder the shipping fee.
I'm looking at the rancho lift and I just wanted to ask a couple questions... this lift wouldnt go on for quite some time if I got it but never the less.
Front-wheel-drive vehicles transfer the power from the transmission to the wheels through drive axle assemblies. These drive axles have constant-velocity (CV boot) joints at each end.
I was getting some new tires put on and I was told that my ball joint replacement needed an adjustment before they would do the alignment. I had them just give me a certificate for the free alignment and will get it done later.
I had a mechanic look at the vehicle and he lifted it up and we spent 45 minutes going over the truck...the only bad thing was that the power was a little dirty.
