    An update...when I first checked resistance with the old coil still installed, I got 1.8 ohms. A second check showed .9 ohms. The unit I swapped out, measured .9 ohms. The new one I installed measured .9 ohms. So no pinpoint conclusion there. Still running mostly alright, but some other cops...

    Thanks for all the replies. I quite often have the window down a few inches, so the cabin air gets cycled well enough to keep the inside of the windshield dry. Some manufacturers have models with a separate button for the ac to be engaged. I'm sure there are some good enough reasons for that...

    Radiator, how big is too big!

    I used to have a mazda, that the temp gage barely got close to the normal op range. There was very little heat. I put a higher temp rated thermostat in it and the gage read close to the middle of the range, and I had good heat.

    Gem?

    My 2000 had that issue. I pulled the relay. When stepping on the brake, the door ajar light would go out. Eventually it resolved itself somehow and worked normal.
