I put the factory sills in my 2011 and have been very happy with them. However, They will scratch easy. I believe they are alum and not Stainless. Easy to put in.
I have show car Mustangs so I am very picky. I cover them with tape if I have to take truck in for service. If you do get a...
That's funny. Maybe Ford has changed some things as they went thru the years of the 3 generation. My 2011 has 20 in on the truck but came with an 18 inch spare. I got my dealer to order the tires I wanted and when the (5) tires came in they had to send (1) back as they found out the Spare was...
All good advise above. I will add that the key is to treat as often as possible. Recommendation is once a month but most of us just can't get around to it that often. If you treat it 2 or 3 times a year you should be good. There will be some natural cracking in high wear areas even if you...
Again and Again we have to revisit this issue as new people experience this problem. I know most will replace struts under warranty. I did as well. It's a waste of time. Ford OEM struts for Current Expeditions are absolute garbage. I went thru 2 Sets in less than 15000 miles. After 2nd...
I have not seen a SS running board cover !! I bet they look great new but I would be concerned about the wheels causing damage due to throwing up debris. Having not seen any, maybe that is not a concern.
Make sure you post pictures if you put them on yours. Interested to see.
Hi Andy, Great to see some of you guys catching up to what I did several years ago. Glad someone found the standard length showing my truck. Yours looks great Andy. And I really like the Trim you found for the tail lights as well.
For the record I actually installed the trim on my Door belts...
I don't remember where I got the tail light trim but it is not available in that particular configuration any longer. However, if you search some of the truck sites there are some similar styles you can still get.
One of the things I did which really changed the look of the front was a billet...
Yes I was pretty disappointed. I don't believe they have changed vendors. Basicly they are Monroes. And in recent years they have been very poor. All 4 were initially leaking badly by 5000 miles so keep an eye on yours. I think that is an area that Ford could specify a higher quality...
For Expeditionandy
Just local around town, Never off road. My 2011 just turned over 33k mile. So pretty much a cream puff. The only time I really work my truck is towing my boat and that is not very often.
This has been talked about extensively before. Ford OEM struts are garbage. I went thru (2) sets of 4 in 15k miles. First set was under warranty, second set was not. Would not have made any difference anyway. I was not going to put a third set of that crap on. I have been very happy with...
Interesting - I was under the impression that in Tow/Haul, that under towing load the trans would remain in the lower gear for more pulling torque. Maybe I am wrong on that. But it does seem strange that when towing it only goes into overdrive when speed control is activated.
I tow a 4500 lb boat about 1500 miles every year with my 2011 Expedition. Truck tows great. I have noticed the following. I usually drive by foot using the customary Tow/Haul feature. If I want to rest my leg and use speed control for a while, when I engage it the transmission instantly...
Just hit the reset button on the dash when you start to back up with the trailer. It should cancel it temporarily. Next time I put mine in reverse it is active again.
This has been addressed several times before here and yes several above are right. Ford's OEM Struts are garbage. I bought my 2011 new and went thru 2 sets before 20,000 miles. All (4) leaking at 5000 miles, replaced under warranty. Second OEM set, all leaking by 15,000 miles with no...
If memory serves me correct, Roush uses Powerstop on the brake upgrade for the Roush Mustang. So you should be OK with the quality and the brand. Ceramic pads will last longer and give you more stopping power. You really don't need drilled and slotted rotors for an Expedition but they...
Got er done. Piece of cake. I did follow some additional instructions on one of the YouTube videos.
Remove number 15 fuse before beginning. Replace when complete. Turn ignition key to on position for one minute or more which will recalibrate system. Started it up and everything was back...
I ordered the wrong part. Correct one (I hope) will be here in a couple days. Amazing how many configurations of these things there are. I had to get the part number off the one out of the truck and even then found that the part number has now changed. Seems like Ford tries to make things as...
I heard the dreaded clicking about a month ago. None since then and passenger side temp wont change. So I think maybe a tooth broke and is jammed. I am going to make sure the blend door moves freely before I put in the new actuator.
Yes, I have verified that the one behind the radio is the one that controls the passenger side. Fix should not be too bad. Hope I never have to replace the one on the bottom.
I have known that these have a history of problems. I have always limited how much I change the temp. Once for winter...
