How To Fix Failing and Sluggish Power Door Locks - Ford Truck Technical Articles
I came across this write up while researching my issue a little more, and am hoping this will fix it. Will report back with what I find out.
1 - Bad windshield seal
2 - drain tubes from the sunroof run down thru both A pillars. (could be stopped up or broken) You can check them by opening the sunroof, and pour a small amount of water into each drain hole in both front corners of the sunroof. You should see the water run out of the...
Finally had time to check the door lock relays yesterday, but unfortunately they were not the problem. Going to replace the two front lock actuators next as they seem to be the ones not operating with the most consistency. I did however snap a few pics to post in case someone needs to know where...
If something you do works, please let me know. I just got back from vacation so I haven't had a chance to work on it yet. May get to it one afternoon this week.
Looked for the relays today, but couldn't get the headliner down but a few inches to peek in with a flashlight. Unless they are tucked in behind something, I didn't see them. The reason I wanted to check them is because I'm having issues with the door locks. Sometimes when I hit the key fob to...
My first thoughts are:
1 - the heater hose line that runs from behind the water pump, across the top of the block may be leaking at the back of the motor somewhere.
2 - Head gasket leaking or cracked head
3 - Intake manifold gasket at the rear of the engine leaking.
Check out this thread for some info on the infamous "intake manifold crossover leak." This issue usually causes coolant to run into one or the other front spark plug holes and cause a misfire. TONS of info on the net if you do a google search for "4.6 or 5.4 intake manifold leak"...
Haven't had any deep sounding "clunk" noises out of my 2000EB, but I sure had one heck of an annoying "clinking" sound going over bumps till I found out what it was. Had to replace the stabilizer bar bushings where they attach by the coil spring. There are two other "U" shaped bushings that the...
Thanks Bedrck46! Glad I asked before I went to digging around for them. I never would have looked there. Will report back when I get the chance to replace them.
2000 EB expedition. Looking for the door lock relays. Searching around the net has them either behind the radio, under the hood on the passenger side, or behind a trim panel in the drivers rear area. Anyone know without a doubt where they are?
The link below is my personal experience with the crossover leak on my 2000EB. I never got a misfire due to the leak because mine was leaking onto the center block area (valley) of the engine.

After making several unsuccessful trips to the local salvage yard to find an ABS module for my 2000EB, I got lucky today, and found one. To help those that find this thread, my original issue was that the ABS pump motor suddenly came on and wouldn't shut off even with the key out of the...
