99 expedition sounds like a V6 or smaller engine

I was listening to my engine the other day and the darn thing sounds like a V6 or smaller. But, there is no check engine signs on or anything. The truck does idle almost like a diesel though, which is really cool. But...not a diesel. lol. It is though a 5.4L Gas engine, and have done little maintenence to the motor. But, I doubt that the timing or spark plugs, coils, or anything like that would change what it sounds like. Or, I could be terribly wrong and should start knitting instead of fixing the car. lol.

If it has a factory muffler on it, then it is going to sound kind of wimpy. If you are only firing on 6 cylinders, there would be a lot of shaking going on... and you would hear what sounds like the engine missing beats as you go up through the RPM band.
