Sorry for the delayed response, but haven't had much time to work on the Expedition since moving into a new house. No, I have not checked the GEM module. I did notice when I went under to check the shifter motor that my connector has 11 wires pinned into it instead of 7 that are on the one a local parts dealer gave me to try in it's place. I am assuming the difference is the AWD vs standard 4WD.

If I recall there is a thread on the forum that explains what has to be done when replacing a shift motor It involves removing wire pins from the old connector and replacing them with the wire pins from the new connectors.

I believe that the connector has 16 slots Not all are used

Do a search for shifter motor Sorry I can't be more helpful than that
