Previous owner of the car must’ve had children because there’s a marble or some thing that sounds like it is in one of the front AC vents. Every time I turn a rolls around and driving me nuts. Is there an easy way to pop off the vent and stick aTube from the shop vac or something down there? I don’t want to try and pry it off with a screwdriver if there’s an easier way.

Go on YouTube and in the Search box type in, "Remove air vents for (your year) Ford Expedition. You should get a result for your Expy generation.

Ben,
This may work for you. You will simply need two simple things:
A) Snake grabber tool (GrabEasy 36in) - this you can buy online or HomeDepot < $10.
B) Endoscopic Camera, check on Amazon plenty of options < $70.
C) Paper packing tape

I share the same experience, thought it was a bolt/nut or simply a marble. Took the endo cam and was able to confirm it was a marble. Then with the taped the endocam to the grab easy and made the perfect tool to retrieve anything considering that otherwise it would take ridiculous time and money to disassemble and put things back together.

Actually had fun playing with this new tool and inspecting all vents to make sure nothing else was there.

The sound of a rolling piece inside the plastic vent drives anyone crazy. Using this I was able to get the marble out of there and clean the other vents.

I don’t know how that marble got there, a disgruntled factory worker? A kid who played in the car (previous owner)? I have heard similar complaints and how people have spent time and money trying to fix this. Hope this solution is of help as this way you will be able to retrieve anything from an enclosed and other imposible area to work.

All the best,

Misha

Note that the sound came from the vent under drivers seat (pushes air to rear area). Ford Expedition 2015.
