PO705 and Flashing Overdrive Light Related?

Hi,

wouldn't you know it two days before I'm taking the family on a long road trip I got a PO705 code and the overdrive light started flashing.

If I start the car with the engine light on, the overdrive light will flash for a minute or two then go away.

Would the PO705 and flashing overdrive light be related?
