problem with od trip

ok guys i am having a problem with my od trip it keeps cutting out and reseting itself so it is hard to get a gas milage reading if you cant get a good milage count has anybody eles had this problem and how did they fix it

havent had the problem for a while and i think it si a loose connection because if i tap on it whe it cuts out it comes right back on
