So, I suspect the stator one way clutch has failed in the torque converter on my 03 Expy, poor initial acceleration from a stop, poor fuel mileage, poor towing ability, and stall speed is out of spec low. 1250 RPM in D and 1, 1400 RPM in 2 and R. It also is exhibiting a flare on 4-3 downshifts, flaring over 1000 rpm before settling. Not sure if the flare is related to the TC or if it is a separate issue. 4R70W/4WD, 5.4 engine, 152k miles.
I'm prepared to replace or rebuild the transmission if necessary, but want to bounce this off of a few others to see if I am barking up the right tree here.
