Anyone know about how much tranny fluid I should expect to need doing a pan drop and filter replacement?

What year vehicle do you have, and is it two or four wheel drive?

No problem, should be about 5 qts on pan drop and fill. Use the dipstick located under the 19 mm bolt on top of trans pass side. Use Ford fluid only. They contain friction modifiers the others do not. Not sure if yours takes Sp or Lv fluid, you can check your dealer or owners book. I think yours is the Lv full synthetic, but double check. You don't want to mix fluids.

Let us know how it turns out when your done. You do realize your only changing out half of the fluid that's in there! To change it all you would have to crack a cooler line, or do the risky dealer flush.

Either change all the fluid or don't change it. How clean is your dirty dish water if you dump half of it then add clean water? It is still dirty, just not as dirty.
Same idea as rebuilding an engine with used parts....

This is why so many of our members have issues after a fluid change. You never know what's in there. Dirty and clean, don't play well together.
