I have a 2013 Expedition EL that came with the Heavy Duty towing package. This package did include the auxillary transmission cooler but i'm thinking about replacing it with an aftermarket cooler because we will be towing a travel trailer in the very near future. I'm new to towing and don't want to risk over heating the transmission. My question is does the Ford auxillary cooler work well enough to keep the transmission fluid temperature in a safe range while towing at about 75% towing capacity? Should I add a 2nd cooler or just replace it with an upgraded one and if so, which ones are recommended that would be compatible with the vehicle? I did find these on summit racing that have good reviews.

Thanks for any suggestions

I'd say a second cooler should work out better than a single. If you were up north where it gets freezing I'd NOT recommend it, but as you are down south-you can't have too much cooling on trannys.
