So I worked on getting the Expy ready for our long road trip through Mexico into Belize and back. I just put a brand new engine in it. So this weekend I put the Go Rhino brush guard with Led light bar, Warn hidden winch bracket and a Warn winch. Next is the dual battery setup for next weekend.
Thanks. Today I put in the two battery bracket and two new batteries(pic later) and fitted the accessories on the roof rack(Not a very good pic) It has an LED light bar, black storage box, Axe, Shovel, Hi-Lift jack, 2 4" LED lights on each side and 2 4" LED lights facing the rear. So I need to put in my fog lights into the valance and put the roof rack on. Then comes all wiring.
Damn man you're gonna drive around with an axe exposed like that... ***** come to my neighborhood I wanna see these strict cops here bend you over and stick it up where the sun don't shine
So I just finished installing my dual batteries . Wasn't as hard as I imagined. I also wired the winch. So now I install my roof basket and wire all the lights.
Yes. If you look to the right you with see a clear box with True on it. That is the isolator. Works well. It lights up to let you know which battery is charging.
I installed it all in a couple hours. The dual battery box that I bought fit right where the old one was. I found it on Amazon. I just mounted it to the side and bottom of the vehicle. So the isolator controls where the charging power goes. Its primary target is the main battery(red top). When the red top battery gets above 13.3 volts , the isolator switches to charge the accessory battery(yellow top). Then when the red top falls below 12.8 volts the isolator switches back to the main battery. Pretty simple and straight forward. Today I also installed the fog lights.
