Got another question for everyone - Anyone else have any issues with the rear wiper sticking? After I bought my Exp. a few months down the road I would go out to start it up and find the battery stone cold dead. After a few times of this happening - we finally found the problem to be the rear wiper. When I'd use it it would never go back down to the completely down position and the motor would keep running and it would drain the battery. We've taken it apart and relubed it a few times and that only lasts through 1-2 rains or 1 carwash. Anyone else have any issues with the wiper not going down?

Thanks

Same issue on my '03, except it was frozen when I bought it - no movement whatsoever. Had a mystery drain on the battery, and it was NOT fun tapping fuses to track it down. The best part is - I am in Germany and the replacement assembly is tough to find, at the local stealer on the internet.

I read that this problem might be caused by the mounting snap ring that allows moisture into the rotation bearings - I'll bet it becomes more common soon. If you find an improved version, or even an online source for it, please let me know. Thanks!

Rear Wiper Drain on Batter

Yeehaw!!! I found the fix to the problem. There is a tech bulletin out on the darn things and it turns out that this was such a bad design that they have a new wiper motor available to purchase. I bought one for $60 and installed it in 10 minutes - and it's been running great with no battery drain. Can't even tell ya how happy I am.

Where did you find the wiper motor for $60. That is a great deal.
Thanks.

Just bought one

I bought my expedition from a great dealer about 2 months ago. The other day I went outside and the battery was dead...wiper issue. Anyone know the best place to buy a replacement motor? Ford wants 700 including labor...HA! Yeah right.
