Thats built into the PCM so mabey a tuner can releve
that problem. I drive a large snow plow and in a class
that i went to the instrutor said for every 10 mph thats
one complete rollover so 100 mph is 10 rollovers
will you survive how about your passengers

Doesnt the Superchips tuner have a top speed remover? Even though I have the smaller 4.6, I find it kinnda annoying that my roommate's 98 Durango was able to go 115 stock, and I top out at 100 :(

With upgraded brakes, suspension, and tires, I think the expy would do fine at 120 - 130 as long as it's a straight and open path.
I was wondering if it could be done with something as simple as a chip.

how do you know if your XP is "chipped", because Iknow its dangerous and its wreckless, but i took my XP beyond 100. It surpassed the 100 mph mark, and kept going. How could i tell i was going faster you ask??? I looked at my tach, and the RPMs just kept going up, then i slowed down LOL, I"ll TRY to record it and upload it somehow showing yall.

Just looking through the Sniper Tuning website and this should take care of the limiter. (Listed towards the bottom of the list.
Sniper Tuning

Mine gets to 100, seems like its going to keep on going, then the limitor kicks in, and the engine "shuts down" till drag slows you back down to 99 or so.

BTW, dont tire speed ratings start at 113ish mph? Or is it 93? Then again, as long as the high speeds arent maintained for extended periods of time, your tires should be ok.

I've touched 130 in mine in the desert (calculated afterward based on rpm). H-rated tires.

Very straight road. Was still pulling a bit, and still had some gear/rpm left, but the truck clearly wasn't designed to go that fast.

I think if I put some time into fabricating a flat undertray, lift would be minimized and she'd be a bit more stable. But then I ask myself "why?"

I have an 03 xp with the 4.6 V8. The speedometer says it will go to 120. However I'm not stupid enough to see if it will actually do it. I had the truck up to 95 once, that was plenty fast enough for me. If I want to go over 100 mph I'll do it in a sports car. At least they are designed for the high speed.

I agree with you.
After touching excessive high speeds once in the Expy, I'm in no hurry to ever do it again.

She got there pretty quick, so I was only there for a second or two.

Had my speedometer shown my actual speed, I probably would've backed out of it sooner.
